What is NIL anyway?

What is NIL anyway?

NIL stands for name, image, and likeness. Athletes are entitled to receive pay for their NIL use in business marketing. Collegiate athletes have been legally allowed to profit from their own NIL since July 1, 2021.

Recently, the Michigan House passed a bill for high school athletes to receive the same legal rights and opportunities on October 19, 2023. The bill passed 66-43 majority votes, aligning with 34 other states with legalized high school NIL. As we know, the Senate must also pass the bill. We’re hopeful that this is the case.

What does this mean for you and your football player? It means that preparation is necessary and opportunity is forthcoming. Are you ready? If not, MET Agency Sports can help!
