Meet Myles "Gho$t" Rowser, a true sophomore Safety in the 2023 Conference USA. He earned his nickname for his quick and stealthy moves on the field. In the 2023 season with the New Mexico State Aggies, he was an impact player in their historic success, contributing to their win of ten games. Among his most impressive stats of the season was holding opponents to complete just 48.1 percent of passes when targeted, the lowest total in the C-USA among safeties and 13th-lowest among all FBS safeties (min. 25 targets). Gho$t had 70 tackles, leading the entire secondary, and made six or more tackles in seven games, playing in all 15 games. His 13 receptions allowed when targeted on the season were fourth-lowest among all FBS safeties. Offenses tend to game plan around Gho$t and prevent throwing to his area of the field. However, when they do throw, they pay the price. Gho$t secured a huge interception in game 13 for the teamโs 10th win and attempted to return it gaining 27 yards while evading multiple tackles.
Gho$t is a true force to be reckoned with and has shown leadership on and off the field, earning the trust of his coaches as a field leader in the secondary. Despite arriving late to the team's fall camp, he quickly learned the ropes and earned a starting position, thanks to his high football IQ, elite athleticism, and All-American honors at every football level. In short, Myles "Gho$t" Rowser is a game-changing player who has proven his worth time and time again.
In 2023, Gho$t took the lead in organizing several community service events with MET. The first event involved volunteering at Forgotten Harvest's food bank. He then decided to go a step further, offering support to young football athletes, something he wished he had received more of as a youth. Together with Darrel "Hollywood" Jones Jr., Gho$t co-founded the Collegiate Athlete Network organization (C.A.N.), which focuses on mentoring young athletes. They visited several youth football organizations, delivering motivational speeches. Gho$t's idea for creating this program was to give back to the community. The co-founders of C.A.N. also visited teams they had played for as youths and were warmly welcomed by their former coaches.
Myles Gho$t Rowsr has been excelling both on and off the field. He has been making positive contributions to the community, performing well academically, and showcasing remarkable skills on the field. As a result, he has been awarded the MET Defensive Player of the Year for the 2023 season. He has recently joined the ASU Sun Devils and is currently maintaining A's and B's in all his courses. We are eagerly looking forward to watching him play in the BIG12 this season!
